About me
Alexandra is a registered acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner with over 25 years of experience using the wisdom, elegance and time honoured traditions of East Asian Medicine. The aim is to support women as they navigate the cycles of life, whether it be menstrual issues, preparing for a family, pregnancy, post partum, menopause or ageing. She has worked in the NHS in her capacity as a senior physiotherapist where her speciality was working alongside the Breast Care Team treating women undergoing breast cancer treatment.
She weaves together Five Element Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nutrition and Mycotherapy, and uses her palpatory and observational skills to help identify where the underlying disharmony, or blocks, to wellness lie. Alex is a perpetual and forever curious student of the Daoist philosophical approach to health and to the incredible benefits of plant medicine. These ancient methods of maintaining and improving health are as relevant today, if not more so, than they were in ancient times, and modern research methods are now proving their effectiveness. The belief is that if we work towards living in harmony with the rhythms and cycles of life by observing the laws of nature and cultivating self care and awareness, we can aspire to find a harmonious state of being within ourselves and our relationship with the world around us whilst also remaining true to our own uniqueness.
